The BobbyJack.
The BobbyJack Pipelift is an industrial lifting device designed to raise pipes in pipe rack systems to allow for inspection, maintenance, installation of pipe shoes, and other activities which require lifting the pipes from the supporting beams.
The BobbyJack eliminates the need for a crane, crane operator, & rigger. It can be used in almost any environment and can be installed by one person from ground level, an elevated platform, a manlift, or by rope access.

How It Works.
Secure Setup
- Two support arms are placed on either side of the pipe, with adjustable pivoting braces to fit securely onto the pipe’s supporting beam.
- BAK shims are used for beams with a flange thickness under 1/2 inch, ensuring a snug fit. Beams with flanges over 1/2 inch do not require shims.
Precise Positioning
- A lift cradle with a vertical riser is centered in the slots of the support arms.
- A hydraulic jack is secured into the cradle, and the appropriate lifting V is selected based on pipe size, then inserted into the riser and secured with a retention pin.
Controlled Lifting
- Using the jack handle, the jack piston raises the lifting V into contact with the pipe. Once aligned, the pipe is elevated smoothly to the desired height.
Failsafe Locking Mechanism
- High-strength pins are inserted through aligned holes in the cradle guide sleeves and riser pipes, locking the pipe in place independently of the hydraulic system. This mechanism offers clearance options of 1 inch, 2 1/2 inches, 4 inches, and 5 1/2 inches, ensuring both flexibility and safety.
